How to get Healthy and Glowing Skin

Green Solutions to Make Your Skin Glow

Great skin is simply skin that is healthy. Healthy skin tends to look and feel smoother with few blemishes. Glowing skin is not hard to achieve if you follow of few of the methods described here as these techniques reduce scars, shrink pores, and improve the skin’s overall elasticity.

Exfoliating

Exfoliation is usually done with a scrub, facial brush, or both. The purpose of exfoliating the skin is to clean out and cleanse the pores of any product build up. This build-up can be from wearing makeup or just regular lotion you apply on your face throughout the day. The build-up also includes the day to day bacteria that people come in contact with and unknowingly end up transferring to their face whether they like to rest their head on their hand or scratch their forehead. Needless to say, the buildup can come from a multitude of places which is why it’s important to make exfoliating a regular habit. When using an exfoliating scrub, there are small gritty balls inside the serum-like product which help remove the dead skin cells so that smoother skin cells start to surface.

You don’t need to use a lot of chemicals to exfoliate your skin. This means that this is a very green way to look great.

Cold Water

Getting great skin that glows is not always about the product you use but more so the technique. While some people cringe at the thought of cold water touching their skin. Rinsing your skin with cold water does have its benefits. Some of these benefits include smoother skin and smaller pores. When you exfoliate, do it with warm water to open up and thoroughly cleanse the pores out. When rinsing it off, use cold water which will cause the pores to contract, giving them a smaller appearance. This method of alternating between hot and cold is best to shrink pores.

Face Masks

Some of the kinds of face masks that are on the market include collagen masks, mud masks, clay masks, and herbal masks. Herbal masks can be done at home as there are thousands of face mask recipes on the internet to try. Some common ingredients in a homemade face mask would be honey, lemon, turmeric, Greek yogurt, green tea, argan oil, and rose water. The following is a very effective face mask for discoloration, acne scars, and more. The turmeric in it acts as an anti-inflammatory and the honey is rich in anti-oxidants.

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Incorporating some of these remedies for beautiful, healthy skin, you can expect to see major changes in how your skin looks and feels after consistent use. For better results, all of the methods listed can be used together on a regular basis. Be sure that you do not exfoliate the skin too long or too hard as the face has thinner skin than the rest of the body which means it’s more sensitive. Also, ensure that you are not allergic to whatever ingredients you choose to use in your face masks.
